RM of Hillsdale’s story

The Rural Municipality of Hillsdale No. 440 became an incorporated rural municipality on January 1, 1913.

Within its boundaries lies the village of Neilburg, where the municipal office is found. The RM also includes the unincorporated communities of Baldwinton, Carruthers, Freemont and Lilydale. Manitou Lake, Maidstone Lake and the Battle River are among its notable waters, and Highways 21, 40 and 675 run through the municipality.
